Privacy policy
LayerSafe is a sole-trader business based in Galway, Ireland, run by Kevin Newman. LayerSafe is the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions or requests: hello@layersafe.app.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you ask for the Community Case files.
- Whether you ticked the updates box, and when you signed up and confirmed.
- Email activity such as opens and link clicks, recorded by our email provider.
This site does not use analytics or advertising cookies.
Why we use it
- To send you the files you asked for. We send one confirmation email with the download link. Legal basis: taking steps at your request (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- To email you about new LayerSafe designs and other free giveaways, only if you ticked the box. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email.
Who handles it for us
- Kit (Kit, LLC, United States) stores the mailing list and sends our emails.
- Cloudflare hosts this website, processes form submissions and runs the bot check on the sign-up form. This involves your IP address.
- Google Fonts serves the fonts on this site, which involves your IP address.
Some of these providers process data in the United States. Those transfers are covered by the safeguards each provider has in place under GDPR, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. We never sell your data or share it for anyone else's marketing.
How long we keep it
If you asked for updates, we keep your email until you unsubscribe. If you did not, we delete it within 90 days of sending your files. Addresses that are never confirmed are deleted within 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to send it to you in a portable format. Email hello@layersafe.app and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
